Both will fill your day & its easy when you’re in the middle of “busy” to think you’re being productive. But how can you tell the difference? & how can you give yourself a HARD RESET if you’re just busy but not really being productive.
The easiest way to tell the DIFFERENCE between Busy & Productive is NUMBERS.
In the martial arts business, if you are being productive, your work will be measurable in hard numbers. How many calls did you make, how many class planners did you write, how many videos did I schedule, how many live videos did I do, how many appointments did we set, how many ads did you launch, how many funnels did you build, how many new members did you sign up?
If you were “busy” all day, maybe too busy to get any of those things done, than I would challenge you to really look at what you did and say, was anything that I did today actually productive, or was I just busy?
Scrolling Facebook can’t be quantified, “researching” techniques on youtube isn’t quantifiable until you create something from it. Sprucing up your academy isn’t even quantifiable unless you make a video post about it, and turn it into something that can draw in a new audience and bring you results in numbers!
So maybe you’re looking at what you’re doing right now, and you are realizing that what you’ve been doing is more busy than productive. How do you do a hard reset.
Stop right now, grab a piece of paper, & just from right now on for the rest of the day, choose an activity that can be quantified and tally how many of those things you complete at the end of the day. Don’t overthink it or worry if you have every piece of info you need to be perfect. Just get something completed that you can check off of a list. Focus on that for the rest of the day. Then tomorrow, try to beat your number. Become addicted to checking things off your list, building your numbers, and completing projects.
A busy day will leave you exhausted and defeated. You’ll feel like you never have time for anything and that you can’t get ahead.
A productive day will end in NUMBERS BASED RESULTS, COMPLETED TASKS, and the feeling of accomplishment that you only get by knowing that you’ve moved closer toward your goal.
